  • What to expect at the enrollment session: 

  • Plan to be here for approximately 3 - 3.5 hours; you may bring a drink/snack for the session. 

  • Fill out required program forms 

  • A brief overview of our program and the certifications we offer 

  • ·Taking the Reading/Math/Language assessment (TABE)- a required assessment for enrollment in our program. 

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)-12 weeks

The need for dependable, qualified caregivers is growing as the elderly population grows. There are opportunities ranging from hospitals to home health agencies to long term care facilities. The Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA, plays an important role. The basic CNA Training Program, prepares the student for immediate employment as a nursing assistant. Accredited by the North Central Association and the Indiana State Board of Health.  *Be able to read and write in English. *Pass state test upon completion.

Day/ Times: Tuesday & Thursday 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. & Saturday (1) 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Paraprofessional Training and Certification- 8 weeks / 56 hours

This certification is integrated within our adult basic education classes over 8 weeks allows you to become an instructional assistant and/or substitute teach in K-12. US or non US based High school diploma required to work with this certification.

Day: Mondays and Fridays

Evening: Monday and Wednesday

Time: 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.    Location:  Northview/Rm 115   

Day: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Time: 12:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m  Location: Noblesville   

         

Word 2016 -Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS): (12weeks)

Technology skills are critical for success in the business workplace and support student success as they transition through higher levels of education. This class instructs students in Microsoft Word based on the skills needed to pass the Microsoft Word Specialist Certification exam.

Requirements: High school diploma or working towards HSED, Some keyboarding skills, mouse skills, and basic working knowledge of Word: how to move around a document and selecting/editing content. Great attendance

 

 

Both day and evening classes are offered

Day: Wednesdays and Fridays (12 week class)

Evening: Mondays and Wednesdays

Time: 6;00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Location: Northview/ RM 114

Excel 2016 -Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS): (15-16 weeks)

 

In a highly competitive job market, technology skills are in high demand. Set yourself apart as an employee or a jobseeker by obtaining an Excel certification. This class will instruct students in Microsoft Excel objectives needed to pass the Microsoft Excel Specialist Certification exam.

Requirements: High school diploma or working towards HSED, some keyboarding skills, mouse skills and basic working knowledge of Excel: navigating a worksheet, selecting content, simple data entry, cutting and pasting cells and great attendance.

 

Evenings: Tuesdays and Thursdays

Time: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Afternoons: Wednesdays & Fridays

Time: 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Location: Northview Middle School- Adult Ed (Door #4)

Construction Training - 8-9 weeks

     

The program utilizes NCCER’s Core Curriculum: 80 hours of coursework that’s a combination of flexible classroom learning and onsite performance verifications. Applicants who successfully complete the program would receive the NCCER Core Credential (includes training in basic safety, construction math, hand and power tools, construction drawings, basic rigging and communication skills) and OSHA 10 certification. Students in our program will be well informed of pathways for all aspects of construction and will be connected to the employers and training centers that will provide them with a pathway to a career in construction. Construction employers attend each class session and students can participate in a hiring event at the end of the program.

Requirements:  18 years of age, High School Diploma or HSED, clean drug screen .

Bridging the Gap- Medical Interpreting Training (7-8 Wks)

In partnership with LUNA language services

The Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreter Training prepares individuals to become successful medical interpreters.  This course will conclude with an exam for licensure as a certified medical interpreter, a nationally and industry-recognized credential awarded by the Cross Cultural Health Care Program based out of Seattle, Washington.  Classes will take place twice weekly, for three hours per session, and this course will be supplemented with 15 hours of field experience in a variety of medical settings to prepare the student for the demands of the diversified work environments they may encounter in the workforce.. This language-neutral course, taught in English, is open to speakers of all languages. Prior experience in the medical and/or interpreting fields is helpful, but not required, this is an entry-level certification.

Class Requirements:  Enroll in MSDWT Adult Education program, meet TABE (reading, math & language assessment) minimum requirements, complete Indiana career explorer assessment and pass a 1hour phone language proficiency test.
